Ferreira House
Ferreira was founded in 1751 by the Ferreira family from Régua, a Port wine producer and merchant, and is the only Port wine company that has always been in Portuguese hands.
It grew significantly in the 18th century and invested mainly in wines of the highest quality, buying and cultivating some of the Douro's main vineyards. This impressive work continued into the 19th century, thanks to Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira.
The famous signature: "Did you ask for it?" created in 1975, reflects the fact that you don't need any pretexts to drink Port. Just open a bottle of Ferreira Port. Without any reason. Just because you like it. At any time. Anywhere.
Today, Ferreira is the country's leading Port wine brand, a symbol of quality, tradition and know-how that has been passed down from generation to generation for over 270 years. It is owned by Sogrape, a Portuguese family business with a long tradition of producing and selling quality wines and the creator of the world-famous "Mateus Rosé".
