Taylor’s Vintage 2003
Ageing Period:
Aged for 24 months in oak casks and then in bottles for several years.
Winemaking Process:
Produced only with grapes from the two “letter A” rated farms: Quinta de Terra Feita and Quinta de Vargellas, from a single harvest in a particular year.
The winter before the 2003 harvest was very rainy.
Flowering took place in late May, with warm and bright time, under conditions regarded as one of the best in years.
The first two weeks of August provided the intense summer heat that often preceds a major Vintage Port wine.
Harvest time in September was warm and dry, and the yields were uniform for all noble grapes varieties, ensuring balance and complexity in the wines.
An absolute blockbuster that, according to Robert Parker, “you can proudly stand shoulder to shoulder, next to the best Vintage Port wine ever prepared by Taylor’s.”
