Ageing Period:
Aged for 24 months in oak casks and then in bottles for several years.
Winemaking Process:
Produced only with grapes from the two "letter A" rated farms: Quinta de Terra Feita and Quinta de Vargellas, from a single harvest in a particular year.
The 1993/1994 winter was extremely wet throughout the region.
As a result, most vineyards had very low yields. In some Douro areas, production levels decreased by 75% compared to the average.
In spite of the slow start, the growing season was satisfactory, with warm dry weather, interrupted only by a few and short periods of rain.
The 1994 Vintage Port received 100 points from the highly acclaimed James Suckling, who was part of the Wine Spectator magazine's team at the time.
