    Year Notes about 2007 Wine Year and Harvest: The 2007 year had a rainy winter that replenish underground water reserves, after four hot and dry years. Wet conditions continued in the spring and early summer with low temperatures. In the first two weeks of September there were constant daily temperatures between 35 °C and 38 °C. These hot, dry conditions made the vineyards ripe perfectly, accelerating the sugar and phenolic compounds production while maintaining the excellent natural acidity resulting from a relatively cool summer. As a result, the harvest produced perfectly balanced musts which led to wines with style and elegant, full of vitality and with a concentrated fruity character and superb freshness.

In the summer the temperatures were not very high, which occurred in the first weeks of September where temperatures ranged between 35ºC and 38ºC . These weather conditions allowed a perfect maturation of the grapes, allowing the creation of a natural acidity. This harvest gave origin to elegant, stylish and very fruity wines. Taylor's Vintage 2007 is an opaque Port Wine, with a purplish black colour and violet nuances. It features complex black-fruit and blackcurrant aromas with hints of wild herbs, violets and rose petals.

    Croft 2009 Vintage Port This Vintage Port was created in 2009, which will be remembered as a year of low yields, due, in part, to the small amount of fruit and the effects of a very dry ripening season. The ripening season started with relatively cold weather that remained so until July. However, August was intensely hot. An early harvest granted wines a good acid balance and avoided over-ripening.
