Vintage Port wines are bottled two years after their harvest, and then produced in a single year. The Niepoort Vintage 1980 owns a hypnotizing dark reddish colour, aromas of fresh fruit and spices as well as slight notes of cedar and rosemary. On the palate is a well structured wine with strong tannins and a lovely acidity.
With incredible and powerful flavours and textures, it is a wine that was not filtered when it was bottled, being for that reason recommend to be decanted. Produced with the grape varieties of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão and Tinta Roriz, is a wine that marries perfectly with the Serra da Estrela cheese or dessert made with eggs.
