Aged in oak casks for a minimum period of seven years before being bottled, the Harvest Ports are produced through a single harvest. The Niepoort Harvest 2001 is a dense, intense and fresh wine, with a great aromatic concentration and notes of dried fruits, like plums and apricots, and a slight touch of smoke.

In the mouth this Niepoort Harvest 2011 reveals itself a long and complex wine, with fruit flavour and notes of spices, a very lively acidity and a long, elegant finish. The year of 2001 allowed a slow maturation of the grapes, as it had a hot summer, giving origin to fresh and elegant wines. The wine aging period occurred during 9 years in barrels with more than 50 years. It is a harvest that can be served as an appetizer or in the end of meal.
