What makes a LBV special is the way it combines the unique characteristics of the year it is produced, with the possibility of being appreciated not only after a few years of aging in the bottle, but also in the exact moment you buy it.
As the LBV can be consumed immediately, the decantation is not necessary. However, if you store your LBV Port and decide to only open after a few years, it is recommended to be decanted before being served, as it might create deposits at the bottom.
Once opened, it should be consumed between 4 and 5 days. You can have it with intense cheeses or fruit or chocolate desserts.
